Saxony is one of 16 German federal states. The Representative Office of Saxony in Berlin has been instituted in order to represent Saxon interests in federal policy.

Dr. Johannes Beermann is the head of the Representative Office of Saxony. As Chief of the State Chancellery, he is also responsible for the contact between the Saxon State Government and the German Bundestag, the federal ministries, and the federal states.
