Saxony and the German Bundestag

The most important tasks of the German Bundestag are legislation and monitoring the government's work. Advisors from the Saxon representative office observe meetings of the plenum and the committees of the German Bundestag. They regularly monitor the work done in work groups and other parliamentary committees, and report their findings to the state ministries and the chancellery in Dresden. They also observe parties, associations, media, and other social institutions.

The state representation is the permanent contact for the Saxon members of the Bundestag and the Landtag, and reports to the state government on current political developments. It endeavours to protect Saxon interests on many levels.
