Duties

The Saxon Minister of Finance, as head of the treasury and government accounts, is responsible for budgetary, financial and taxation policy. The Budget is prepared under his direction. Together with his Cabinet colleagues, he proposes the distribution of the available resources to Parliament. Whether staffing levels are appropriate, whether funds should be made available to restore palaces, support enterprises or build new roads - millions of figures determine our complex joint environment.
The Minister of Finance is the ultimate master of all the Saxon palaces, castles, and gardens. He is also responsible for the administration of building work, property holdings and stakeholder management, as well as salaries of officials, judges and employees of the Free State, as well as the implementation of tax legislation in the Finance Departments.
