The Free State of Saxony represents an area of unrivalled natural beauty, a rich cultural landscape, and centuries old traditions. In addition to world famous craftsmanship from the Ore Mountains, people also maintain Sorb traditions, and the Vogtland dialect.

But the Free State never shied away from innovation. Saxony is a high-tech location and undertakes highly sophisticated research projects. The Free State is internationally known by the names »Silicon Saxony«, »Autoland Saxony« and »BioSaxony«.
